RESOLUTION 2020-243
APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF 2tiD STREET BETWEEN
SOUTHVIEW DRIVE AND PARKVIEW DRIVE ON SATURDAY, JULY 18, 2020,
WITH AN ALTERNATE DATE OF SUNDAY, JULY 19, 2020, BETWEEN THE HOURS
OF 7:00 P.M. AND 10:45 P.M. FOR THE PURPOSE OF A NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK
PARTY, PENDING ANY RESTRICTIONS ON LARGE GATHERINGS
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, resident Mychele Herring requests the temporary closing of 2nd Street between
Southview Drive and Parkview Drive on Saturday, July 18, 2020, with an alternate date of
Sunday, July 19, 2020, between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. for the purpose of a
neighborhood block party; AND,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Code of Iowa §364.12(2)(a), public ways and grounds may be
temporarily closed by resolution; AND,
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 virus, the State of Iowa has imposed certain
temporary restrictions on public gatherings that may or may not be in effect as of the date of the
event;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
6t" day of July, 2020, that it hereby approves the temporary closing of 2°d Street between
Southview Drive and Parkview Drive on Saturday, July 18, 2020, with an alternate date of
Sunday, July 19, 2020, between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. for the purpose of a
neighborhood block party, pending any restrictions on large gatherings.
