AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 204,SECTION 204.5,WAUKEE
MUNICIPAL CODE,RATE OF RENT AND MANNER OF PAYMENT,TO PROVIDE FOR
AN INCREASE IN SEWER RENT BASE CHARGE FROM $5.16 FOR ZERO THROUGH
1,000 GALLONS OF WATER USAGE PER MONTH,TO $5.41,EFFECTNE APRlL 1,2003;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE BASED ON WATER USAGE IN EXCESS OF THE
MINIMUM OF 1,000 GALLONS,FROM $3.84 PER 1,000 GALLONS PER MONTH,TO $4.09
EFFECTNE APRlL 1,2003;BY ADDING TO THE FIRST FULL PARAGRAPH OF SAID
SECTION THE WORDS,"INCREASING EFFECTNE APRlL 1,2003,TO $5.41";AND BY
ADDING TO THE SECOND FULL PARAGRAPH OF SAID SECTION,THE WORDS,
"INCREASING EFFECTIVE APRlL 1,2003,TO $4.09".
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1.Chapter 204,Section 204.5,Waukee Municipal Code,Rate of Rent and Manner
of Payment,is amended by adding to the first full paragraph thereof the words,"Increasing effective
April l ,2003,to $5.41;and by adding to the second full paragraph of said section,the words,
"Increasing effective April 1,2003,to $4.09",so that Section 204.5 shall read as follows:
§204.5.Rate of Rent and Manner of Payment.The rate of rent shall be:
A minimum monthly sewer bill of $5.16 shall be charged for zero through 1,000
gallons of water usage per month,increasing effective April 1,2003,to $5.41.
Water usage in excess of the minintum (1,000 gallons)will incur a wastewater
charge of $3.84 per 1,000 gallons per month,increasing effective April 1,2003,to
$4.09.
The rent shall be paid under the water bill at the time payment of the water bill is
due,and under the same conditions beginning with the next payment after
connection to the sewer system is made.
Section 2.Repealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions
of tills ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3.Severability Clanse.If any section,provision or part of tills ordinance shall be
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance
as a whole or any section,provision,or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutionaL
Section 4.Effective Date.Tills ordinance shall be in effect upon its final passage,
approval and publication as provided by law.
