RESOLUTION 02-35
APPROVING THE ORDER OF DETAILED PLANS,SPECIFICATIONS,
NOTICE OF HEARING,NOTICE TO BIDDERS AND FORM OF CONTRACT
FOR THE DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT PHASE I IMPROVEMENTS AND
SETTING MARCH 13,2002 AS THE DATE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS AND
MARCH 18,2002 AS THE DATE FOR PUBLIC HEARING AND LETTING
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Veenstra &Kimm,Inc.has worked with city staff,business owners,and
interested citizens in the design work of a redeveloped downtown approved by all;AND,
WHEREAS,the Council has approved the preparation of detailed plans,specifications,
notice of hearing,notice to bidders and form of contract for the construction of the
Downtown Redevelopment Phase I Improvements;AND,
WHEREAS,the City has set a start date after April 1,2002 and a completion date of
October 1,2002 ;AND,
WHEREAS,the City will assess liquidated damages in the amount of one thousand
dollars ($1,000)per calendar date for each day work remains uncompleted after the end
of the contract period,with due allowance for extensions of the contract period due to
conditions beyond the control of the contractor.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 25th day of February 2002 that it hereby approves the order of detailed plans,
specifications,notice of hearing,notice to bidders and form of contract for the Downtown
Redevelopment Phase I Improvements and setting March 13,2002 as the date for receipt
of bids and setting March 18,2002 as date for public hearing and letting.
