RESOLUTION 02-76
ACCEPTING SOLID WASTE COLLECTION PROPOSAL
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee requested a solid waste collection proposal from Waste
Management and Artistic for solid waste collection within the City limits;AND,
WHEREAS,the proposals were to include the services now provided for a five year
contract with an option for a three year extension and to include three different pricing
options;AND,
WHEREAS,review of the proposals resulted in an addendum adding $1.17 to each of
1770 stops and to each of 400 mobile home units in the mobile home park;AND,
WHEREAS,Waste Management submitted the lower per stop per month charge for all
options;AND,
WHEREAS,city staff reviewed both RFPs and selected Waste Management,Option 2
with the inclusion that any citizen not wanting a wheeled container would not be required
to take one at a cost of$12.l4 per stop per month.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 6th day of May,2002 that it hereby approves accepting the solid waste
collection proposal option #2 of Waste Management with the inclusion that any citizen
not wanting a wheeled container would not be required to take one.
