RESOLUTION 02-71
APPROVING LEASE PURCHASE OF A FORD EXPLORER FOR FIRE CHIEF
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the original vehicle damaged in an accident in route to a fire is not
repairable and needs to be replaced;AND,
WHEREAS,three bids were sought for a replacement vehicle;of which the lowest bid
from Charles Gabus Ford at $22,289.20 was selected;AND,
WHEREAS,Baystone Financial Group has submitted a proposal for a lease purchase
agreement to extend over five years at an interest rate of 6.040%with down payment of
$2,228.90 and the first payment due on July 15,2003;AND,
WHEREAS,City staff have reviewed the need for the vehicle,the bid submitted and the
possible financing and agree to the replacement at the lowest bid with possible financing
through Baystone Financial Group.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 6th day of May,2002 that after consideration of the above resolution it hereby
amends the above resolution and approves contacting the police department to see ifby
purchasing another vehicle for the police department,the police department would be
able to trade out a vehicle for use by the fire department.
