RESOLUTION 02-94C
APPROVING AND SUPPORTING THE CITY OF WAUKEE'S
PARTICIPATION IN THE "NATIONAL NIGHT OUT'ON AUGUST 6,2002
SPONSORED BY NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF TOWN WATCH (NATW)
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the National Association of Town Watch (NATW)is sponsoring a unique,
nationwide crime,drug and violence prevention program on August 6,2002 entitled
"National Night Out";AND,
WHEREAS,the "19th Annual National Night Out"provides a unique opportunity for the
City of Waukee to join forces with thousands of other communities across the country in
promoting cooperative,police-community crime prevention efforts;AND,
WHEREAS,it is essential that all citizens of Waukee be aware of the importance of
crime prevention programs and the impact that their participation can have on reducing
crime,drugs and violence in Waukee;AND,
WHEREAS,police-community partnerships,neighborhood safety,awareness and
cooperation are important themes of the "National Night Out"program.]
NOW,THEREFORE WE,MAYOR LESLIE AND THE WAUKEE CITY
COUNCIL,do hereby call upon all citizens of Waukee to join the National Association
of Town Watch in supporting the "19th Annual National Night Out"on August 6,2002.
FURTHER,LET IT BE RESOLVED THAT WE,MAYOR LESLIE AND THE
WAUKEE CITY COUNCIL,on the 17th day of June 2002 do hereby proclaim
Tuesday,Angust 6,2002 as "National Night Out"in the City of Waukee.
