RECOGNIZING THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE WAUKEE COMMUNITY
SCHOOLS HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS'SOCCER TEAM
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,high school girls'soccer is a relatively new sport in the Waukee Community
Schools;AND,
WHEREAS,the season records ofwinllosses for the high school girls'soccer has steadily
improved;AND,
WHEREAS,this team made up of Emily McClaflin,Jessie Roth,Heather Barrett,Nicole
Jackson,Jennifer Fink,Amy Klein,Allison Collins,Lindsay Schwab,Ashley Thielen,Mikaelyn
Lewellyn,Tracy French,Laura Sander,Bailey Walkup,Stacy Herr,Hannah Humphrey,Katie
Roth,Melissa Hobbs,Sasha Kemmet,Lindsay Gillum won fourteen out of eighteen games this
season;AND,
WHEREAS,this team coached by Ryan Sander and Shelley Beal and assisted by manager
Nicole Maggert won the right to be called the 2001-2002 State of Iowa High School Girls'
Soccer l-A State Runner-up in a hard fought Class I-A girls'state soccer championship at the
Muscatine,Iowa Soccer Complex June 15,2002;AND,
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee supporting the Waukee Community Schools and school
athletics is extremely proud of the accomplishments of the High School Girls'Soccer Team.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
1st day of July,2002 that it hereby approves the Mayor's Proclamation honoring the Waukee
Community High School Girls'Soccer Team as the Class I-A State Runner-up for 2001-2002.
