RESOLUTION 02-07 1,
APPROVING THE INVOLUNTARY ANNEXATION OF THE CHARLES
SCHAEFFER PROPERTIES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee has visited with the property owners of the Charles
Schaeffer properties for the past year AND,
WHEREAS,the City and the property owners have not been able to reach an agreement
as to the annexation ofthe Charles Schaeffer properties AND,
WHEREAS,further voluntary annexation in the area is jeopardized because the City in
its annexations must not create an island AND,
WHEREAS,it is in the best interest of the City of Waukee to pursue an involuntary
annexation at this time;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 7'h day of January 2002 that it hereby approves the petition for involuntary
annexation of the Charles Schaeffer Properties as described in the petition.]
