Approving Detailed Plans and Specifications,Notice of Hearing,Notice to
Bidders and Form of Contract;and Setting Date for Hearing thereon and
the Receipt of Bids therefore
WHEREAS,this Council has adopted [mal Resolution of Necessity in connection
with the Hickman Road Arterial Street Lighting Project (the "Project");and
WHEREAS,detailed plans and specifications,notice of hearing and notice to
bidders and form of contract have been prepared and filed by the Project Engineers for
such project and have been examined by this Council;and
WHEREAS,it is necessary to fix a time and place of public hearing on the
proposed plans,specifications and form of contract and estimate of cost for the Project
and to advertise for sealed bids for the Proj ect;
NOW,THEREFORE,Be It Resolved by the City Council of the City of Waukee,
Iowa,as follows:
Section 1.The detailed plans and specifications,notice of hearing and notice
to bidders and form of contract and estimate of cost referred to in the preamble hereof are
hereby approved.
Section 2.The amount of the bid security to accompany each bid is hereby
fixed at 10%of the amount of the proposal
Section 3.The City Council hereby delegates to the City Clerk the duty of
receiving,opening and tabulating the bids for the construction of the Project,on the 27th
day of September,2001,at *1:00 o'clock p.m.,at the office of the City Clerk at the
Waukee City Hall,230 Highway 6,Waukee Iowa 50263,Waukee,Iowa.The 1st day of
October,2001,at 7:00 o'clock p.m.,at the Council Chambers,City Hall,Waukee,Iowa,
is hereby fixed as the time and place of hearing on the proposed plans,specifications,
form of contract and estimate of cost for the Project,and also as the time and place of
considering bids received by the City Clerk in connection therewith.
Section 4.The City Clerk shall publish notice of hearing and notice to
bidders,the same being in the form hereinabove approved and substantially as attached to
this resolution,which publication shall be made in a legal newspaper of general
circulation in the City,which publication shall be not less than 4 days nor more than 20
days before the date set for hearing and receiving such bids.
Section 5.All resolutions or parts of resolutions III conflict herewith are
hereby repealed,to the extent of such conflict.
