RESOLUTION 01-167
INITIATING ACTION TO INVOLUNTARILY ANNEX THE CHARLES
SWALLOW PROPERTIES
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee is in the process of annexing properties which will
allow for the natural growth and development of the City,AND,
WHEREAS,City staff have for many months been discussing with the owners of the
Charles Schaeffer properties,potential annexation of said properties which
include a 137.5 acre parcel and a separate 27.75 acre parcel both located in Boone
Township,Dallas County,Iowa,AND,
WHEREAS,discussions to date with the owners have not resulted in the submittal of a
voluntary annexation petition for these properties,AND,
WHEREAS,the inability to complete the annexation oftheses properties is now
preventing City action on other voluntary annexation petitions,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOL YED by the Waukee City Council in session this
24th day of September,2001 that it hereby expresses its intent to,if necessary,
involuntarily annex the Charles Swallow properties and hereby sets a public
meeting for consideration of this action for 7:00PM on October 15,2001.
