WHEREAS,the City of Waukee will apply for transportation funding through
the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the widening of University Avenue from
l42nd Street to Waco Place/98th Street;AND
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee and the City of West Des Moines will jointly
seek to acquire funds through the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the
construction of the Alice's Road/105'h Street Interstate 80 Interchange;AND
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee will seek to acquire funds through the
Metropolitan Planning Organization for the construction of a multi-purpose trail located
on existing city right-of-way along the north edge of Southfork Woods and Southfork
subdivisions proceeding westerly to the northwest comer of Westgate Business Park,
AND
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee is committed to funding the local match portion
of the proj ects that are submitted to the Metropolitan Planning Organization for FY 2005,
and understands that adopting this resolution binds the City of Waukee to assume
responsibility for adequate maintenance of any new or improved facilities,and certifies
that the participating local governments will provide the required matching funds as part
of the funding package,
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that the City Council of Waukee,Iowa in
session this 5'h day of November 2001 do hereby approve funding the local match
requirement as stated in the applications submitted to the Metropolitan Planning
Organization for FY 2005.
