APPROVING 28E AGREEMENT FOR MUTUAL ASSISTANCE FOR POLK
COUNTY FIRE /RESCUE SERVICES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Polk County is seeking a 28E Agreement for mutual aid assistance with
communities,counties and townships surrounding and within its borders;AND,
WHEREAS,situations may arise in regard to medical and firelrescue emergencies or
circumstances which exhaust available personnel and equipment,and require additional
or specialty personnel and additional or special equipment that the responsible
jurisdiction may not have available at any given time;AND
WHEREAS,it is beneficial to all parties to the agreement to render needed emergency
medical and firelrescue services upon a reciprocal basis AND,
WHEREAS,the governing bodies of each entity are desirous of entering into a 28E
Agreement,the purpose of which is to provide for the emergency medical services and
fire/rescue mutual assistance of one entity to the other in such emergency situations
requiring additional and/or special personnel and equipment.1
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOL YED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 17th day of December,2001 that it hereby approves a 28E Agreement for
Mutual Assistance for Polk County Fire /Rescue Services.
