RESOLUTION 03-08
APPROVING THE DESIGNATION OF A SPECIAL ELECTION AS THE
METHOD FOR FILLING THE MAYOR'S POSITION
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,vacancies in city offices may be filled by a special election as set forth by
the city council or may be filled by city council appointment;AND,
WHEREAS,Mayor Leslie requested the position of Mayor be filled by a special
election;AND,
WHEREAS,City Council,City staff and interested citizens of Waukee agree that a
special election would be appropriate when filling the mayor's position;AND,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 6th day of January that it hereby approves the designation of a special election
as the method for filling the Mayor's position.
