RESOLUTION 02-143
APPROVING A COUNCIL INITIATED REZONING AND RECLASSIFICATION
OF THE HAWEAKERPROPERTY
AND AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,MI.Bill Lillis,attomey for the Hawbaker family presented a development
concept plan for the Hawbaker property located at the southwest comer of Alice's Road
and Highway 6 during the May 6,2002 council meeting;AND,
WHEREAS,during that same meeting Mr.Lillis requested a zoning change from A-I
(Agricultural)to C-I (Community &Highway Service Commercial District)and C-IA
(Neighborhood Commercial District)AND,
WHEREAS,subsequent to that council meeting and after working with and receiving
support from Chad Weaver,city staff,and John Kursitis of V &K,Inc.,Mr.Lillis as
submitted a letter respectfully requesting a council initiated rezoning of the Hawbaker
property from the present A-I (Agricultural District)to C-I (Community &Highway
Service Commercial District)and C-IA (Neighborhood Commercial District)and
therafter to a PD (Planued Development District);AND,1
WHEREAS,with Council approval,the petition requesting rezoning is scheduled to be
submitted to Planuing and Zoning Commission on September 24,2002.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 23'd day of September 2002 that it hereby approves initiating the rezoning
and reclassification of the Hawbaker property from A-I to C-I and C-IA and thereafter
to a PD (Planned Development District)and amending the Comprehensive Plan and
refers this issue to the next meeting of the Planning &Zoning Commission.
