)WHEREAS,the City of Waukee will apply for transportation funding through
the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the widening of University Avenue from
Waco Place/98th Street to Warrior;AND
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee will apply for transportation funding through
the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the construction of two lanes for Alice's
Road from University Avenue south to Ashworth Road;AND
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee will seek to acquire funds through the
Metropolitan Planning Organization for the construction of a multi -purpose trail to be
built along the Alice's Road corridor between University Avenue and Ashworth Road;
AND
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee is committed to funding the local match portion
of the projects that are submitted to the Metropolitan Plauning Organization for FY 2007,
and understands that adopting this resolution binds the City of Waukee to assume
responsibility for adequate maintenance of any new or improved facilities,and certifies
that the participating local governments will provide the required matching funds as part
of the funding package,
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that the City Council of Waukee,Iowa in
session this 22nd day of September 2003 do hereby approve funding the local match
requirement as stated in the applications submitted to the Metropolitan Planning
Organization for FY 2007.
