RESOLUTION 03-206
APPROVING THE SENDING OF FLOWERS TO ESTEEMED CITIZENS AND
COLLEAGUES FOR SUCH LIFE EVENTS AS ILLNESS AND DEATH
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,it has always been the intent of the City Council to acknowledge the
contribution of its citizens who have participated in the growth,development and
improvement ofthe community;AND,
WHEREAS,this acknowledgement includes selecting a recipient for the Citizen of the
Year award,the Volunteer of the Year award,and where appropriate the sending of
flowers for occasions such as illness or death of the person so honored or of a close
relative;AND,
WHEREAS,the sending of flowers during an illness or at the time of death of the person
so honored or of a close relative is also appropriate when sending to esteemed colleagues
in other communities who have had the best interests of the Waukee community at heart;
AND,
WHEREAS,this expression of respect and gratitude,friendship and cordiality these
flowers represent is a way for the council and staff to show its appreciation for the
contribution of the individuals.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 6th day of October 2003 that it hereby approves the sending of flowers to
esteemed citizens and colleagues during illness and at the time of death,
