RESOLUTION 03-218
APPROVING CITY O»F WAUKEE PARTICIPATION IN
THE GREATER DM PARTNERSHIP BUILDING ON SUCCESS IN A CAMPAIGN TO
FUND "CHOOSE DES MOINES COMMUNITIES AND DOWNTOWN COMMUNITY
ALLIANCE"
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee has participated in the Greater DM Partnership fund raising in
the previous four years;AND,
WHEREAS,July,2004 will be the final year for the "Choose Des Moines Communities"fund
raising campaign;AND,
WHEREAS,the Greater DM Partnership is now soliciting funds for the year 2005 through 2009
in its "Choose Des Moines Communities and Downtown Community Alliance";AND,
WHEREAS,the goals of the DM Partnership fund campaign for the next five years are:
I,Expanding &Retaining existing businesses;
2,Attracting a select group of new employers;and
3,Building a true comrmmity in downtown Des Moines;AND,
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee has agreed to participate in the "Choose Des Moines
Communities and Downtown Community Alliance"campaign beginning in July 2005 and will
contribute $3,000 per year.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
3rd day of November 2003 that it hereby approves the City's contribution of $3,000 per year for
five years beginning with July 2005 to the Greater DM Partnership
