THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
APPROVING ACCEPTANCE OF AND PARTICIPATION IN
THE IA DOT CORRIDOR MASTER PLAN FOR U.S.6 CORRIDOR DALLAS/POLK
COUNTY,IOWA FROM 1-35180 TO THE
WEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF WAUKEE,IOWA
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the Iowa Department of Transportation is planning ahead to accommodate future
growth and access to and from Highway 6 between 1-80/35 and the west corporate limits of
Waukee;AND,
WHEREAS,that includes planning for predetermined access locations (PDA),left or right or
both left and right,future signal locations,and the additional planning and operational
requirements for entrance and exit to PDAs;AND,
WHEREAS,the purpose of the plan is to define parameters for transportation management,
access management,land use and development characteristics along the U.S.6 highway conidor
within the limits defined;AND,
WHEREAS,the purpose of the plan is to establish guidelines which shall promote safe and
efficient traffic flow and which shall enhance and sustain economic development along the
corridor;AND,
WHEREAS,this plan may be appended,amended or vacated by the written agreement of all
signatory parties,which include the IA DOT,the City of Clive,The City of Urbandale and the
City of Waukee.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
3'd day of November 2003 that it hereby approves the IA DOT Conidor Master Plan for U.S.6
Corridor DallaslPolk County,Iowa from 1-35180 to the west corporate limits of Waukee,Iowa.
