RESOLUTION #03-230
HONORING MIKE WATTS FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF
WAUKEE AS COUNCIL MEMBER
DURING THE PREVIOUS FOUR YEARS
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,during his years on the Council,Mike has always been an energetic,willing,
reliable can-do SOli of guy;AND,
WHEREAS,it was Mike who was usually one of the first to ask the difficult questions,to
challenge the unspoken assumptions,to promote discussion about an issue which seemed cut and
dried and which,in retrospect,was neither;AND,
WHEREAS,it was Mike,always cognizant of ensuring good for the greater community,who
challenged citizens,council members and staff to think big,to think outside ofthe "box",to
expect more for ourselves and fOTthe City of Waukee,to be thank-full for what we have and to
grasp the possibilities for the future;AND,
WHEREAS,it was Mike who time after time cleared his throat,stated his thoughts,held firmly
to his convictions and changed the course of whatever action was in front of the council;AND,
WHEREAS,it was Mike who has made a difference during his time on the Council -not by
words alone but by actions has he done this.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
15th day of December 2003 that it hereby acknowledges and expresses heartfelt gratitude for the
accomplishments and contributions of Mike Watts who as council member from January 2000 to
January 2004 gave his all for the betterment of us all who are residents oftlfe City of Waukee.
