RESOLUTION 03-128
APPROVING PROPOSAL SUBMITTED BY GRIMES ASPHALT AND PAVING CORP.
TO ASPHAL T PAVE THE TRAIL IN CENTENNIAL PARK ON WEST SIDE OF
ASHWORTH DRIVE FROM SOUTH OF FOOTBALL FIELD TO UNIVERSITY
AVENUE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,city staff indicated to the Waukee School System that the City would asphalt pave
a trail from the football field to University Avenue;AND,
WHEREAS,this project is limited in scope and is one that can easily be worked into the Grimes
Asphalt and Paving Corp.schedule for a reasonable fee;AND,
WHEREAS,Grimes Asphalt and Paving Corp.will
1)do fme grade work to sub grade for new Asphaltic Pavement trail
2)apply 4 inch depth Type A Asphaltic Concrete Pavement -8 feet wide by 880
feet long
3)perform blade backfill of new pavement
4)will apply granular form of soil steri1ant prior to asphalt paving;AND,
WHEREAS,the base bid for this project is $12,375.00 plus the addition of the soil steri1ant at a
price of$750.00 for a total project cost of$13,125.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
2nd day of June 2003 that it hereby approves and accepts the proposal submitted by Grimes
Asphalt and Paving Corp.to asphalt pave the trail in Centennial Park on west side of Ashworth
Drive from south offootball field to University Ave.
