RESOLUTION 03-146
APPROVING WAGE INCREASE FOR NON-REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,giving the same percentage increase to non-represented employees as will be given
to represented employees is no longer feasible due to a grade and step plan of wage
administration adopted in the last contract negotiation during 2003;AND,
WHEREAS,the work performance of all non represented employees in the City of Waukee was
reviewed and evaluated by the City Administrator or his designee during the week of June 1,
2003;AND,
WHEREAS,it is the recommendation ofthe City Administrator that all non represented
employees receive a 3.5%increase at this time except for those listed immediately below,each
of whom will receive a pay raise as indicated:
Beth Richardson--6%
Tim Royer-v-I 0.92%
Dianna Van Zee--2%
Larry Phillips--$l,OOO
John Gibson--$l,OOO;AND,
WHEREAS,it is also the recommendation of the City Administrator that the City of Waukee
adopt a closure program as a method to ensure that Waukee wages are current with the market;
AND,
WHEREAS,once the closure program has been researched,developed and enacted by vote of
Council,the recommended increases for each non-represented employee be retroactive to July 1,
2003.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
16th day of June 2003 that it hereby approves an increase in non represented employees at a
maximum increase of 3 .5%except for those mentioned above (excluding Dave De Dezeeu,a
union member,who also received a larger increase,which was 18.6%)and that it also approves
researching and developing a closure program for all non represented employees.
