RESOLUTION 03-157
APPROVING INSTALLATION OF LIGHT POLES ALONG HICKMAN ROAD
IN CONJUNCTION WITH INSTALLATION OF THE WIRING
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City Council of Waukee had originally proposed to install wiring and
bases along Hickman Road within the city limits of Waukee and to install or have
installed light poles as development occurred;AND,
WHEREAS,Communication Technologies,Inc.,the low bidder for the wiring and base
installation,is currently installing wiring and bases;AND,
WHEREAS,City staff are now recommending that City Council approve the installation
oflight poles along Hickman Road so as to improve the image of the City for the public,
both current residents and business owners and the general public including those
individuals who are prospective residents and business owners of Waukee,and the safety
of that public;AND,
WHEREAS,City staff are requesting the Council approve submission of a bid proposal
to prospective contractors for the installation of approximately 73 light poles from the
Clive /Waukee border to 10th Street in Waukee.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 7th day of July 2003 that it hereby approves installation oflight poles along
Hickman Road in conjunction with installation of the wiring and bases.
