RESOLUTION 03-154
APPROVING A WAUKEE PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION GARAGE SALE OF
EQUIPMENT,FURNITURE AND MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS CURRENTLY BEING
STORED IN THE OLD LIBRARY LOCATED AT 500 6TH STREET
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,items such as equipment and furniture not needed in the new library were left in
the old library at 500 6th Street;AND,
WHEREAS,these items were hopefully to have been sold via the internet to other libraries
across the State of Iowa;AND,
WHEREAS,items not sold via the internet must be disposed of prior to the closing of the sale of
the old library which is to take place the first of August,2003;AND,
WHEREAS,storage of these items in another building in the city is not feasible;AND,
WHEREAS,the Library Foundation has recommended the Library have a garage sale where all
items to be disposed of may be sold to the public;AND,
WHEREAS,the funds generated in this manner will be placed in the City's general fund to be
amended into the library's operating budget for FY2004.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
ih day of July 2003 that it hereby approves the holding of a garage sale to sell equipment,
furniture and miscellaneous items no longer needed in the new library.
