RESOLUTION 03-75
APPROVING AN EXPRESSION OF APPRECIATION FOR
MAYOR PRO TEM BILL PEARD FOR EXEMPLARY SERVICE
TO THE CITY AS INTERIM MAYOR
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Bill (William F.)Peard,Mayor Pro Tempore of the Council,assumed the role of
Mayor upon the resignation of Mayor Mark Leslie January 12,2003 and fulfilled that role until
March 29,2003;AND,
WHEREAS,Bill (William F.)Peard was sincere and diligent in his performance of the duties of
Mayor;AND,
WHEREAS,William F.(Bill)Peard became a force in and of himself to change the role ofthe
Mayor from reactive to proactive,from regressive to aggressive,from being directed to
directing;AND,
WHEREAS,William F.(Bill)Peard became known as the "Proclaimin'Mayor"for the
proclamations he requested and bestowed on individuals and causes during the short time he was
Mayor of the City of Waukee,AND,
WHEREAS,Bill (William F.)Peard assumed the role of Mayor with dignity,courage and honor
and enjoyed every minute of it.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
7'11 day of April 2003 that it hereby approves the expression of appreciation to Mayor Pro Tem
Bill Peard for service above and beyond the call of duty while serving as interim Mayor.
