Approving the order of detailed plans,specifications,Notice of Healing,
Notice to Bidders and Form of Contract for the 2003 Pavement Asphalt
Overlay Improvements Division I -Ashworth Road and Division IT -
University Avenue I Warrior Lane and Setting April 17,2003 as the date
for Receipt of Bids therefore and Setting April 21,2003 as the date for a
public hearing thereon
WHEREAS,this Council has approved the 2003 Pavement Asphalt Overlay
Improvements Division I -Ashworth Road and Division IT -University Avenue I
Warrior Lane;and
WHEREAS,detailed plans,specifications,notice of hearing and notice to bidders
and form of contract have been prepared and filed by Veenstra &Kimm,Inc.for such
project and have been examined by this Council;and
WHEREAS,it is necessary to fix a time and place of public hearing on the
proposed project,form of contract,estimate of cost and to advertise for sealed bids for
the 2003 Pavement Asphalt.Overlay Improvements Division I -Ashworth Road and
Division IT-University Avenue I Warrior Lane.
NOW,THEREFORE,Be It Resolved by the City Council of the City of Waukee,
Iowa,as follows:
Section 1.The detailed plans and specifications,notice of healing and notice
to bidders and form of contract and estimate of cost referred to in the preamble hereof are
hereby approved.
Section 2.The amount of the bid security to accompany each bid is hereby
fixed at 10%of the amount of the proposal
Section 3.The City Council hereby delegates to the City Clerk the duty 0 f
receiving,opening and tabulating the bids for the construction of the Project,on the
seventeenth (17th)day of April 2003,at 1:00 o'clock p.m.,at the office of the City Clerk
at the Waukee City Hall,230 Highway 6,Waukee,Iowa 50263.The twenty-first (21st)
day of April 2003 at 7:00 o'clock p.m.,at the Council Chambers,City Hall,Waukee,
Iowa,is hereby fixed as the time and place of hearing on the proposed plans,
specifications,form of contract and estimate of cost for the 2003 Pavement Asphalt
Overlay Improvements Division I -Ashworth Road and Division IT -University Avenue
I Warrior Lane,and also as the time and place of considering bids received by the City
Clerk in connection therewith.
Section 4.The City Clerk shall publish notice of hearing and notice to
bidders,the Sallie being in the form hereinabove approved and substantially as attached to I
this resolution,which publication shall be made in a legal newspaper of general
circulation in the City,which publication shall be not less than 4 days nor more than 20
days before the date set for hearing and receiving such bids.
Section 5.All resolutions or parts of resolutions 111 conflict herewith are
hereby repealed,to the extent of such conflict.
