RESOLUTION 03-82
APPROVING 28E AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF WEST DES MOINES FOR
JOINT MAINTENANCE OF UNIVERSITY A VENUE BETWEEN NW 142ND STREET
AND WACO PLACE,WACO PLACE BETWEEN UNIVERSITY AVENUE AND
ASHWORTH ROAD AND ASHWORTH ROAD BETWEEN 74TH STREET (WDM)AND
WACO PLACE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,both the City of West Des Moines and the City of Waukee are municipal
corporations organized and existing under the law of the State ofIowa;AND,
WHEREAS,the purpose of this agreement shall be to provide for the joint exercise of the
respective power of the Cities in the maintenance and servicing of several corporate line
roadways and rights-of-way in the respective Cities;AND,
WHEREAS,a Joint Maintenance Agreement adopted by the City of Waukee on the 1st day of
November,1990 and by the City of West Des Moines on the 26th day of November,1999 is
being replaced by this agreement;AND,
WHEREAS,the specific division of responsibility between the two Cities for the joint
maintenance of these roadways will save time,energy and money for each City and for the
citizens of each City.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
7th day of April 2003 that it hereby approves the 28E Agreement with the City of West Des
Moines for Joint Maintenance of University Avenue between NW l42nd Street and Waco Place,
Waco Place between University Avenue and Ashworth Road and Ashworth Road between 74th
Street (WDM)and Waco Place
