RESOLUTION 04-161
APPROVING SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH KIRKHAM MICHAEL
CONSULTING ENGINEERS IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,000 FOR ADDITIONAL
WORK COMPLETED ON THE INTERCHANGE JUSTIFICATION REPORT,
INTERSTATE 80 AT ALICE'S ROAD 1105TlI STREET
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,information provided by the Iowa DOT in November and December,2003 created
a lengthy list of activities to be met by Kirkham and Michael to assure a favorable acceptance of
the Interchange Justification Report (DR);AND,
WHEREAS,the additional work was not anticipated and compensation for such was not part of
the original agreement;AND,
WHEREAS,a supplemental agreement prepared by Kirkham Michael provides the scope of
services,time of beginning and completion and fees and payments for such services;AND,
WHEREAS,Larry Read,Public Works Director,for the City of West Des Moines has
committee the City to pay one half the cost for the IJR and agrees to the $25,000 increase;AND,
WHEREAS,city staff have reviewed and also approve the supplemental agreement and the
additional fees in the amount of $25,000 as requested by Kirkham Michael.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session thisiz"day of July 2004 that it hereby approves the Supplemental Agreement with Kirkham
Michael Consulting Engineers in the amount of$25,000 for additional work completed on the
Interchange Justification Report,Interstate 80 at Alice's Road 1105th Street with the
understanding that West Des Moines will fund 50%of this additional expense.
