RESOLUTION 09-143
AFPROV AL OF THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WALNUT ST.FROM 5TH ST.
WEST TO 6TH ST.AND 6TH STREET FROM WALNUT ST.NORTH TO ASHWORTH
DR.ON THURSDAY,JULY 23,2009 BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 5:00 P.M.AND
10:00 P.M.FOR THE WAUKEE AREA ARTS COUNCIL "JAZZ IN JULY"EVENT,
PENDING PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AFPROV AL
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the Waukee Area Arts Council will sponsor "Jazz in July,"to be held in the
Downtown Triangle Area on Thursday,July 23;AND,
WHEREAS,the Waukee Area Arts Council has requested that Walnut St.be closed from 5[h
Street west to 6th Street and that 6th Street be closed from Walnut Street north to Ashworth Drive
between the hours of 5:00 p.m.and 10:00 p.m.for the event;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to §364.l2(2)(a),public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
6th day of July 2009 that it hereby approves the temporary closing of Walnut Street from 5th
Street west to 6th Street and 6th Street from Walnut Street north to Ashworth Drive on Thursday,
July 23,2009 between the hours of5:00 p.m.and 10:00 pm for the Waukee Area Arts Council
"Jazz in July"event,pending Public Works Department approval.
