APPROVING,PURSUANT TO IOWA CODE §364.12(2)(a),THE TEMPORARY
CLOSING OF CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF WAUKEE ON TUESDAY,
AUGUST 4,2009 BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 6:30 P.M.AND 9:00 P,M.FOR THE
PURPOSE OF NATIONAL NIGHT OUT BLOCK PARTIES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,numerous citizens request the temporary closure of certain streets,a list of which is
included with this resolution as Exhibit A,for the purpose of National Night Out block parties;
AND,
WHEREAS,the streets will be closed between the hours of 6:30 p.m.and 9:00 a.m.on Tuesday,
August 4,2009;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to §364.12(2)(a),public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
20th day of July 2009 that it hereby approves the temporary closing of certain streets within the
City of Waukee on Tuesday,August 4,2009 between the hours of 6:30 p.m.and 9:00 a.rn.for
the purpose of National Night Out block parties.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Waukee City Council hereby approves any
additional temporary street closings related to this event as authorized by the City of Waukee
Chief of Police.
