RESOLUTION 09-165
APPROVING EXTENDING CONTRACT FOR CURBSIDE RESIDENTIAL WASTE
AND RECYCLABLE MATERIALS WITH WASTE MANAGEMENT,INC.,TO
INCLUDE SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee currently has a contract with Waste Management,Inc.,related
to the pick-up and disposition of curbside residential waste and recyclable materials;AND,
WHEREAS,an extension of said contract is proposed,adding provisions related to the addition
of single stream recycling within the city limits of the City of Waukee;AND,
WHEREAS,City staff and city attorney have reviewed the proposed contract and recommend
approval;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that the City of
Waukee hereby approves the extended Contract for Curbside Residential Waste and Recyclable
Materials with Waste Management,Inc.,to include single stream recycling,provided that
appropriate language be added to the Contract regarding rebate reimbursement.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,and approved the 3rd day of August
2009.
