RESOLUTION 09-156
APPROVAL,PURSUANT TO lOW A CODE §364.12(2)(A),OF THE CLOSING OF
SIXTH STREET FROM THE NORTH SIDE OF LOCUST NORTH TO SOUTH SIDE
OF ASHWORTH DRIVE AND CLOSING WALNUT STREET FROM THE ALLEY
WEST OF THE HARDWARE STORE EAST TO THE WEST SIDE OF FIFTH STREET
AND CLOSING ASHWORTH DRIVE FROM THE WEST SIDE OF FIFTH STREET TO
THE EAST SIDE OF SIXTH STREET,BEGINNING 12:00 P.M.ON FRIDAY,AUGUST
28,2009 AND ENDING 10:00 A.M.ON MONDAY,AUGUST 31,2009 FOR THE
PURPOSE OF WAUKEE FEST
INTHENAMEANDBYTHEAUTHORJTYOFTHECITYOFWAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee will host Waukee Fest on Saturday,Angust 29,2009 in the
Downtown Triangle area;AND,
WHEREAS,Waukee Fest is located in the downtown area where vendors,entertainers,
entertaining,resting and eating areas are located on streets,grounds,sidewalks,and other public
spaces accessible by the public except by motorized vehicle;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to §364.12(2)(a),public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
3rd day of August 2009 that it hereby approves the closing of Sixth Street from the north side of
Locust north to south side of Ashworth Drive and closing Walnut Street from the alley west of
the Hardware Store east to the west side of Fifth Street and closing Ashworth Drive from the
west side of Fifth Street to the east side of Sixth Street,beginning 12:00 p.l11.on Friday,August
28,2009 and ending 10:00 a.m.on Monday,August 31,2009 for the purpose of Waukee Fest.
