RESOLUTION 04-45
APPROVING 28E AGREEMENT TO SUPPLY
BUILDING INSPECTION SERVICES TO THE CITY OF DE SOTO
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of De Soto,not yet able to financially justify having a Code
Compliance Department,has solicited the services of the Code Compliance Officers of
the City of Waukee;AND,
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee has determined that it can provide building inspections,
plan reviews,monthly activity reports and other assistance such as written records,files,
plans,correspondence and expert consultation during matters in litigation to the City of
De Soto;AND,
WHEREAS,Chapter 28E of the Code ofIowa provides that powers,privileges or
authority exercised by a public agency of State may be exercised jointly with any other
public agency of this State having such powers,privileges and authority;AND,
WHEREAS,both cities have mutually agreed to enter into a 28E Agreement to provide
and receive Code Compliance /Building Inspection Services under the terms as identified
in the attached agreement.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 1"day of March 2004 that it hereby approves the 28E Agreement to supply
building inspection services to the City of De Soto.
