RESOLUTION 04-43
APPROVING VEENSTRA &KIMM'S PROPOSAL
TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR
THE NPDES PHASE II PERMIT APPLICATION
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,in December 1999,the Environmental Protection Agency published
additional storm water rules in the Federal Register;AND,
WHEREAS,these rules enable the EP A to identify,based on population growth and
census data,the urbanized areas in the United States;AND,
WHEREAS,as of the 2000 Census,the City of Waukee is now part of the greater Des
Moines urbanized area;AND,
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee is now required to submit an application for a permit
for municipal separate storm sewer systems (MS4s);AND,
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee must submit the application no later than April 4,2004;
AND,
WHEREAS,the staff ofthe City of Waukee have requested the assistance of Veenstra &
Kimm,Inc.in completing the application for the MS4s permit.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 1st day of March 2004 that it hereby approves Veenstra &Kimni's proposal
to provide professional services for the NPDES Phase II Permit Application.
