RESOLUTION 04-53
APPROVING A SIDEWALK ASSESSMENT POLICY AND DIRECTING
DEVELOPMENT OF AN ORDINANCE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,The Waukee City Council has held several discussions on development of
a sidewalk assessment policy,AND,
WHEREAS,a majority of the Council supports assessing 100%of the costs of installing
a sidewalk to the property owner,with some exceptions for comer lots,storm sewer
installation,sidewalk extensions to meet street paving and other ancillary costs,AND,
WHEREAS,the attached policy sets out the City Council's directive for funding
sidewalk installation,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 15th day of March,2004 that it hereby approves the attached sidewalk
assessment policy and directs development of an ordinance codifying said policy.
