RESOLUTION 04-79 ]
APPROVING 2004 RACI GRANT APPLICATION FOR RENOVATION OF THE
FA<;ADE OF THE 'OLD HOTEL'IN DOWNTOWN WAUKEE AS PART OF A
DOWNTOWN WAUKEE HISTORIC PRESERVATION AND
REVITALIZATION EFFORT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Margaret Stone,a member of the Waukee Triangle Business Group asked
the City of Waukee to assist her in applying for a RAel Grant to help in the renovation of
the facade of the Old Hotel;AND,
WHEREAS,such renovation will benefit the downtown business area as well as all of
the City;AND,
WHEREAS,the low bid of$7,655 by Verdure Design Group LC will cover
1.Repair of stucco
2.Replace rotting window sills
3.Power Wash
4.Paint -scrape,sand and prime around windows
5.Replace rotting lumber around soffits and various gutters
6.Materials;AND,

WHEREAS,in support of this project the City Staff recommend loaning Margaret Stone
$3,000 at 1%interest over a period of five years.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 19th day of April 2004 that it hereby approves the application to RACl for
renovation of the 'old hotel'in downtown Waukee and it approves loaning Margaret
Stone $3,000 at 1%interest over a five year period,as an Urban Renewal proj ect.
