APPROVING SALE AND REMOVAL OF CITY PROPERTY LOCATED AT 14705
UNIVERSITY AVENUE,A HOUSE FORMERLY OWNED BY JON AND CAROL
OLSON,PURSUANT TO SECTION 364.7 OF THE IOWA CODE AND SETTING MAY
11,2004 AS THE DATE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS THEREFORE AND SETTING MAY
17,2004 AS THE DATE FOR A HEARING THEREON.THIS SALE IS ALSO PART OF
THE UNIVERSITY AVENUE WIDENING PROJECT,NO.STP-U-8177(604)-70-25
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee has purchased this property as part ofthe University Avenue
Widening Project,No.STP-U-8177(604)-70-25;AND,
WHEREAS,options for removal of the house are to:
I.Move the house to a property owned by the City;
2.Demolish the house and remove the debris;
3.Bum the house and remove the debris;or
4.Sell the house and require the purchaser to remove the house prior to the beginning of
the University Avenue Widening Project;AND,
WHEREAS,City staff have reviewed all options for removing the house and recommend selling
the house to the highest bidder and requiring that the house be removed prior to the beginning of
the widening proj ect,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
19th day of April 2004 that it hereby approves the sale and removal of the house located at 14705
University Avenue with the understanding that the buyer of the will remove the house prior to
the beginning of the University Avenue Widening Proj ect,
