RESOLUTION 04-105
APPROVING INTERGOVERNMENTAL 28E AGREEMENT FOR THE
ISSUANCE AND PROSECUTION OF VIOLATIONS OCCURRING ON OR
NEAR ROADWAYS WHICH ARE THE COMMON BOUNDARY OF CLIVE
AND WAUKEE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE,lOW A
WHEREAS,this agreement will authorize the sharing of responsibilities between the
two police departments when patrolling the streets bordering the two cities for the
issuance of traffic citations and miscellaneous misdemeanors;AND,
WHEREAS,this agreement is very similar to that agreement which is between Clive and
West Des Moines;between Clive and Windsor Heights and between Clive and
Urbandale;AND,
WHEREAS,Chief of Police Larry Phillips and City Administrator/Clerk agree that the
28E Agreement will benefit both cities and provide better protection for the citizens of
each community.
]NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 17th day of May 2004 that it hereby approves the Intergovernmental 28E
Agreement for the issuance and prosecution of violations occurring on or near roadways
which are the common boundary of Clive and Waukee.
