RESOLUTION 04-104
APPROVING 28E AGREEMENT WITH THE WAUKEE COMMUNITY
SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER PROGRAM
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the Waukee Community School District and the City of Waukee entered
into a 28E Agreement October 12,1999,which established the School Resource Officer
Program or the SRO Program;AND,
WHEREAS,this program has been a very successful program during the past five years;
AND,
WHEREAS,the agreement at that time was one whereby the School District reimbursed
the City of Waukee for 12.5%of personnel related expenses;AND,
WHEREAS,the Waukee School District proposed with this 28E Agreement to increase
the reimbursement rate the School District pays the City from 12.5%to 49%and then to
change some of the content of the Agreement so as to reflect correct work titles,to add
the risk case manager to an 'At Risk Committee',to change duties of SRO so that the
SRO no longer works with the D.A.R.E.Program;AND,
WHEREAS,Chief Phillips and Mark Arentsen,both agree that the 28EAgreement is
improved and worthy of our approval.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOL YED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 17'11day of May 2004 that it hereby approves the 28E Agreement with the
Waukee Community School District for the School Resource Officer Program.
