RESOLUTION 04-113
APPROVING ACCEPTANCE OF BID FROM ELLIOTT EQUIPMENT
COMPANY FOR A TRAILER MOUNTED SEWER CLEANER IN THE
AMOUNT OF $53,778
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the Sanitary Sewer Department has outsourced the sewer cleaning and
opening of emergency sewer blockages;AND,
WHEREAS,tills procedure has been an ongoing expense and relatively unreliable in
emergency situations;AND,
WHEREAS,purchasing a trailer mounted sewer cleaner to be used by the department for
an annual sewer cleaning program and to open sewer blockages would result in a savings
to the department and,hopefully,a lessening of damages to the homeowner;AND,
WHEREAS,of the three bid notices mailed to vendors,the bid of$53,778 from Elliott
Equipment Company of 5225 Beisser Drive,Grimes,IA,50111 was the only bid
received;AND,
WHEREAS,staffrecommends accepting tills bid.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session tills 7th day of June 2004 that it hereby approves acceptance of bid from Elliott
Equipment Company for a Trailer Mounted Sewer Cleaner in the amount of $53,778.
