Approving the order of detailed plans,specifications,Notice of Hearing,
and Form of Contract for the University Avenue Widening Improvement
Project,No.STP-U-8l77(604)-70-25 and Setting June 28,2004 as the
date for a public hearing thereon
WHEREAS,this Council has approved the University Avenue Widening
Improvement Project,No.STP-U-8l77(604)-70-25;and
WHEREAS,detailed plans,specifications and estimate of cost have been
prepared and filed by Lee Engineers and Surveyors for such proj ect and have been
examined by this Council;and
WHEREAS,notice to bidders has been prepared by the Iowa Department of
Transportation for such proj ect and form of contract will be prepared by the Iowa
Department of Transportation on the June 22,2004 for such project;and
WHEREAS,it is necessary to fix a time and place of public hearing on the
proposed project,form of contract and estimate of cost.
]NOW,THEREFORE,Be It Resolved by the City Council of the City of Waukee,
Iowa,as follows:
Section 1.The detailed plans and specifications,form of contract and
estimate of cost referred to in the preamble hereof are hereby approved.
Section 2.The amount of the bid security to accompany each bid is hereby
fixed at 10%of the amount of the proposal
Section 3.The Iowa Department of Transportation has the duty of receiving,
opening and tabulating the bids for the construction of the Project,on the fifteenth (15th)
day of June,2004 at the Iowa DOT Office,800 Lincoln Way,Ames,Iowa 50010 at 10:30
A.M.The twenty-eighth (28th)day of June 2004 at 7:00 o'clock p.m.,at the Council
Chambers,City Hall,Waukee,Iowa,is hereby fixed as the time and place of hearing on
the proposed plans,specifications,form of contract and estimate of cost for the
University Avenue Widening Improvements Project thereon.
Section 4.The City Clerk shall publish notice of hearing,the same being in
the form hereinabove approved and substantially as attached to this resolution,which
publication shall be made in a legal newspaper of general circulation in the City,which
publication shall be not less than 4 days nor more than 20 days before the date set for
hearing ]
Section 5.All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed,to the extent of such conflict.
Passed and approved this eighteenth (14th)day of June 2004.
