RESOLUTION 05-25 I
APPROVING CONSTRUCTION OF A TEMPORARY WATER MAIN
EXTENSION FOR THE MINING CAMP COMMUNITY
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the community water well of the Mining Camp connnunity located on
Alice's Road north of Hickman Road has been inspected and tested by the Department of
Natural Resources (DNR);AND,
WHEREAS,the DNR has determined that the Mining Camp connnunity must have its
community water well inspected and tested each year at a cost of $18,000 to $20,000 per
year;AND,
WHEREAS,Public Works Director John Gibson has reconnnended the City install a 4"
water main extension to the Mining Camp for the purpose of providing potable water to
that connnunity;AND,
WHEREAS,each household would be charged a one time connection fee of $500;AND,
1WHEREAS,Staff reconnnends proceeding with the installation of the 4 inch water main
for the residents living in the Mining Camp.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 14th day of February 2005 that it hereby approves construction of a
temporary Water Main Extension for the Mining Camp connnunity
