RESOLUTION 05-23
APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN VEENSTRA &
KIMM,INC.AND THE CITY OF WAUKEE FOR ENGINEER SERVICES FOR THE
UNIVERSITY AVENUE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT,WACO TO ALICE'S ROAD
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the original agreement outlined in Resolution 04-142 identified the project,which
consisted of:
1.University Avenue widening on both the north and south sides
2.Modifying and including the University Avenue and Alice's Road intersection
design;AND,
WHEREAS,the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)was able to award additional STP
funds for FY06 and FY07 due to increased revenue projections by IDOT for those fiscal years;
AND,
WHEREAS,$750,000 of these funds are to be awarded in FY07 to the City of Waukee for the
widening of University Avenue from Waco Place to Alice's Road;AND,
WHEREAS,this project,now known as Alice's Road and University Avenue Reconstruction,
has broadened in scope for Veenstra &Kimm,Inc.who are required to meet the IDOT standards
for engineering services;AND,
WHEREAS,the additional work will include preparation of additional drawings and
modification of existing drawings of the original construction plans and processing of plans
through the IDOT;AND,
WHEREAS,Veenstra &Kimm,Inc.is submitting an amended agreement to include an
additional $29,970 in engineering services;AND,
WHEREAS,City staff have reviewed the amended proposal and recommended its approval.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
14th day of February 2005 that it hereby approves amending the agreement with Veenstra &
Kimm,Inc.for the Alice's Road and University Avenue Reconstruction to include additional
work not to exceed $29,970.
