RESOLUTION 05-39 I
APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO SEND REQUESTS FOR PROPOSALS
TO ENGINEERING FIRMS IN THE AREA FOR THE PUPOSE OF REVIEWING THE
WASTEWATER RECLAMATION AUTHORITY'S MEMBERSIDP PROPOSAL FOR
THE CITY OF WAUKEE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,it is evident being a member of the Wastewater Reclamation Authority (WRA)
would be beneficial for the City of Waukee in the years to come;AND,
WHEREAS,the WRA has submitted a Membership Proposal to the City for the City's review;
AND,
WHEREAS,City Staff have reviewed it and think it advisable to have an engineering firm
review and comment on the more technical aspects of the proposal;AND,
WHEREAS,Veenstra &Kimm,Inc.is designated as the City's engineering firm and also
associated with the Wastewater Reclamation Authority;AND,
WHEREAS,Bob Veenstra and Mik Briedis,partners in the Veenstra &Kimm,Inc.engineering
firm have recommended the City seek an opinion from a different engineering firm.J
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
14th day of March 2005 that it hereby approves and authorizes the staff to send RFPs to
engineering firms in the area for the purpose of reviewing the Wastewater Reclamation
Authority's membership proposal for the City of Waukee.
