RESOLUTION 05-58 I
APPROVING ESTABLISIllNG OF A COMMITTEE TO BE CALLED THE
DEVELOPER ROUNDTABLE FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING THE WAUKEE
RESIDENTS,BUILDING INDUSTRY,COUNCIL,PLANNING AND ZONING
REPRESENTATIVES AND STAFF THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISCUSS
DEVELOPMENT ISSUES FROM THE CITY'S AND THE BUILDING INDUSTRY'S
PERSPECTIVES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,it has been determined that the differences between Planning &Zoning
Commission,City staff and representatives of the Building Industry surface in Council meetings
when issues of interest to the Building Industry are brought before the Council;AND,
WHEREAS,the Developer Roundtable Discussion Connnittee is created to find a way for the
City staff,Planning &Zoning,Waukee residents and representatives of the Building Industry to
work together productively;so as to create an environment in which both sides strive to reach an
agreement on issues that could and do come before the Council;AND,
WHEREAS,this committee will exist until such time that the Mayor,the members ofthe
committee and/or a majority of the Council determine that the committee is no longer viable;
AND,
WHEREAS,the number of connnittee members will vary according to the number of
representatives from Waukee citizenry and the Building Industry;but the number shall not
exceed twenty;AND,
WHEREAS,Council members Jeff Mertz and Nick Gruber will serve as the Council
Representatives to this committee.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
4th day of April 2005 that it hereby approves the establishment of the Developer Roundtable.
