RESOLUTION 05-53 )
APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF THE XENIA RURAL WATERMAIN
ALONG COUNTY ROAD R-22
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State of Iowa,is a duly organized
Municipal Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,the City contacted Xenia Rural Water to see if we could move the
watennain out of the Right of Way and into their existing watennain easement north of
Ashworth Road to the Spyglass subdivision;AND,
WHEREAS,the City directed Veenstra &Kimm,Inc.to redesign the watennain within
Xenia's easement and the Engineers estimate to redesign the watennain was $540,003;a
savings of $52,464;AND,
WHEREAS,the simplest way to run in the easement area would be to have the City
purchase the watermain from Xenia which includes their easement;AND,]
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ofthe City of Waukee,
Iowa that the Purchase of the Xenia Rural Watennain along County Road R-22 be
approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,and approved the 4th day of
April 2005.
