Home My WebLink About2005-01-03-Resolutions 05-07_Mining Camp Water Main Extension - DesignTHE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA RESOLUTION 05-07 APPROVING THE DESIGN PROPOSAL FOR THE MINING CAMP WATER MAIN EXTENSION IMPROVMENTS BY MIK BRIEDIS OF VEENSTRA & KIMM,INC. IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal Organization;AND, WHEREAS,J olm Gibson requested an engineering proposal from Veenstra &Kimm to extend approximately 2,800 feet of 4-inch water main along Alice's Road from the end of an existing 4-inch main to the north end of the Mining Camp.This water main will provide potable water to the mining camp but not fire flow protection;AND, WHEREAS,V &K will provide topographical field surveys along one side of Alice's Road,with the intent to locate the proposed water main in the existing right-of-way,will consult with City Staff to determine a probable alignment for the water main prior to filed surveys,and rely on the City to arrange for filed located of existing utilities along the proposed corridor.The City will be responsible for any environmental related investigations,including septic tank and lateral field locations;AND, WHEREAS,The design will include service connections for the existing houses to be served and the design of the 4-inch main along Alice's Road.Abandonment of the existing Mining Camp well and water system is not included in the scope of the project. The design will be submitted to the IDNR for a construction permit with the City paying all permit fees;AND, WHEREAS,V &K will prepare the specification for the project and an opinion of probable cost;AND, WHEREAS,Veenstra &Kimm,Inc.'s fee for the scope of work included in the design phase through the bid letting process is $9,800;and, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa that the design proposal for the Mining Camp Water Main Extension Improvements by MikBriedis of Veenstra &Kimm,Inc.be approved.
