HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-09-27-Resolutions 04-219_Comprehensive Plan - AmendmentTHE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA RESOLUTION 04-219 APPROVING AMENDMENT TO THE 2001 WAUKEE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN BY CHANGING THE ZONING DESIGNATION FROM INDUSTRIAL TO COMMERCIAL OF THAT PORTION OF WAUKEE LYING EAST OF R-22,NORTH OF HICKMAN,WEST OF N 6TH STREET AND SOUTH OF THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF PROPERTIES OWNED BY WITTERN REALTY INC.AND BY JAMES COONS IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA WHEREAS,Doug Thieleke requested are-zoning of his property which legal description is "Waukee Development,Plat 1 Parcel BLot 3"from M-IA (Limited Industrial)to C-l (Community and Highway Service Commercial);AND, WHEREAS,Mr.Thieleke's property and the properties of The Northway Corp.,James Coons, Wittem Realty,Inc.,and C&K Enterprises all lie in an area designated as Industrial on the 2001 Comprehensive Plan;AND, WHEREAS,all other areas along the Hickman Rd Corridor in this Plan are identified as either mixed use or commercial;AND, WHEREAS,changing the area,comprised of the properties of Doug Thieleke,Northway Corp., James Coons,Wittem Realty,Inc.and C&K Enterprises,on the 2001 Comprehensive Plan to Commercial provides for a continuous and appropriate use of land along the Hickman Rd Corridor;AND, WHEREAS,Staff approve of this change and have notified all property owners affected by this change. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 27th day of September 2004 that it hereby approves changing the designation of land use from Industrial to Commercial for that area lying east ofR-22,north of Hickman,west ofN 6th Street and south ofthe north property line of propel ties owned by Wittem Realty Inc.and by James Coons.
