RESOLUTION 04-214
APPROVING PAY INCREASE FOR LISA TORGERSON,HEAD LIBRARY CLERK;
AND FUNDING THREE LIBRARY STAFF WAGE
ADJUSTMENTS FROM CITY FUNDS
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the Library Board of Trustees at their Septemher 14,2004 meeting voted to
increase the pay for Lisa Torgerson,Head Library Clerk,from $24,158 per year to $28,600 per
year beginning with FY05;AND,
WHEREAS,the Library Board has requested that the City Council recognize and support this
increase for Ms.Torgerson who is a capable,efficient,loyal Library employee;AND,
WHEREAS,increases for (I)Lisa Torgerson,whose wage adjustment for FY05 is an increase
of $4,442,(2)Devon Murphy-Petersen,whose closure adjustment for FY04 and FY05 and
COLA for FY05 is an increase of$4,413,and (3)Linda Mack,whose closure adjustment for
FY04 and FY05 and COLA for FY05 is an increase of$5,171 are to be funded from the City's
general fund;AND,
WHEREAS,Mark Arentsen,City Administrator and Linda Burkhart,Treasurer have reviewed
city funds and have determined that paying for these personnel increases from City funds permits
the Library Board and Staff to use the unspent balance in the library building fund for other
library purposes.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
27th day of September 2004 that it hereby approves pay increase for isa Torgerson,Head
Library Clerk and funding all three library staff wage adjustment om City Funds.
