RESOLUTION 04-235 I
APPROVING THE VEENSTRA AND KlMM,INC.
ENGINEERING SERVICES PROPOSAL FOR WATEWATER TREATMENT
FACILITY EFFLUENT FLOW MONITORING
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the Department of Natural Resources is requiring the City install a final effluent
meter for measuring and monitoring the effluent flow;AND,
WHEREAS,Veenstra &Kinnn,Inc.,City Engineers have submitted a proposal for engineering
services related to the design and construction of a new effluent flow monitoring structure;AND,
WHEREAS,the engineering services proposed include preparation of specifications,soliciting
and evaluating of bids,providing assistance to plant staff during the construction inspection and
general services;AND,
WHEREAS,payment for these engineering services will include $4,000 lump sum for items 1
through 4 as outlined in the proposal and an hourly fee not to exceed $1,600 for resident review
services as described in Item 5;AND,
WHEREAS,Public Works Director John Gibson has reviewed the proposal and recommends
approval.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
18th day of October 2004 that it hereby approves Veenstra &Kimm,Inc.as engineers for
engineering services related to the design and construction of a new effluent flow monitoring
structure.
