HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-10-27-Resolutions 04-247_MPO STP TE ApplicationA RESOLUTION AUTHORlZLNG THE CITY OF WAUKEE TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR FUNDLNG FROM THE FEDERAL SURFACE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT (STP TE)TO THE DES MOINES AREA METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION (MPO)TO ASSIST LN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A MULTI-PURPOSE TRAIL TO BE BUILT ALONG THE ALICE'S ROAD CORRIDOR BETWEEN UNNERSITY AVENUE AND ASHWORTH ROAD AND FURTHER APPROVLNG THE APPLICATION WHICH OBLIGATES THE CITY OF WAUKEE TO PROVIDE MATCHLNG FUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PROJECT Whereas,the City of Waukee is a full member of the Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization;and Whereas,the Federal Surface Transportation Program Transportation Enhancement (STP TE) provides funding to local jurisdictions for the construction of eligible projects;and Whereas,the pro gram is administered by the Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization which prioritizes and ranks all proj ect applications;and Whereas,funding from STP TE is at the 50%level and requires a 50%match from the local government. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE LN SESSION THIS 27TH DAY OF OCTOBER 2004 LN RESOLUTION #04-247,that: 1.The Waukee City Council supports and approves the attached application for Federal Surface Transportation Program Transportation Enhancement funding. 2.The Waukee City Council hereby commits the City of Waukee to provide matching funds as required by the Federal Surface Transportation Program Transportation Enhancement. 3.The City of Waukee hereby commits to accepting and maintaining these improvements,once completed,for a minimum of twenty (20)years. 4.The Mayor of Waukee is hereby authorized to approve and execute the application on behalf ofthe Waukee City Counci ATTEST: ROLLCALL: Nicholas Gruber: Donald L.Bailey JI.: William Peard: Darlene Stanton: JeffV.Mertz: Ayes X-- X Nays Absent X--X X-- 1
